Lawn Verticutting Services
Lawn Verticutting (or vertical cutting) is a mechanical process that slices the ground to loosen soil compaction and thatch buildup. Reducing soil compaction allows for better root growth and a healthier lawn. Thatch buildup occurs naturally over time and some thatch is necessary for a quality lawn. Although, too much thatch can weaken healthy grass and create an ideal environment for pests and disease. Verticutting loosens thatch, which is raked out and removed before seeding. This process is used during seeding and allows for better soil to seed contact to increase seed germination.
The vertical mower has blades which slice into the thatch layer making it easier to lift out of the grass and let your lawn breathe a little easier. After verticutting your lawn will appear to have symmetrical lines sliced into it which is where the new seed will rest and water will be channeled in a more consistent & productive path. Verticutting and aerating will ultimately provide you with the best opportunity for your lawn to strengthen and grow into a lawn you can be proud of.
