Verticuting and aerating should be done in the fall as well to break up any layers of thatch that could prevent air and water from reaching a lawn’s soil and in areas that have thinking or no grass additional seed should be added but not too late into the fall where they aren’t able to grow strong enough to make it through a cold, dry winter.
